interesting correspondence-thought we'd share - Monday, April 16, 2012 10:04 AM
We received the following correspondence and felt the response is useful information for others looking at their options so we thought we'd share:

Hello Mother-ease
I researched AI2 systems for a long time before buying.
Hybrid diapers are much more appealing to those transitioning from disposables due to ease of use and the ability to reuse the covers.

I just discovered your duo system and it looks very promising.
However, I would like to share one draw back for me is that the cover is not one size like many other hybrids. (Flip, BestBottoms, Grovia etc.)

While I appreciate that you offer a one size insert, but your system is less affordable when you have to buy covers in 3 sizes.

For this reason Best Bottom's are my first choice for hybrid diapers at this time.
That being said I am considering the Wizard for my night time choice, since I've already invested in another system.

Also I may purchase some Wizard duo's as a newborn diaper for my next baby because it seems your inserts may do a better job of containing runny newborn poop.
As is many hybrids act as AIO's while young infants are exclusively breastfed as the cover becomes soiled with every BM.

Thanks for your consideration,

Jody

Hello Jody,

Good for you for so thoroughly researching AI2 systems.

You are correct in that our system is is seemingly less affordable than a system with a one size type cover.  What you need to know and what you are not told is that the cover part of any diapering system, be it a pocket diaper, all in 2, all in one, is the weak link in your system.  Mother-ease is one of the oldest diaper manufacturers ‘out there’.  We have studied the progression of advancements in related fabric  technology over the many years.  Although a lot of advancement has been made, the industry is still not at a point where there is a fabric available that will remain waterproof for an extended period of time, let alone ~3 years (birth to toilet training age)  All cover fabric has a limited longevity and no cover fabric, no matter which one you choose will  remain water proof the length of time you would like your child to use the “One size” diaper.  For this very simple reason Motherease has chosen to offer a sized cover system.  There is no point in offering an ill fitting One Size diaper cover or diapering system to well intentioned parents wanting to do the best for their child and the environment when we know it will never work the length of time they’d like it to.  We will be the first on the market with a OneSize “all in One” diaper when the fabric technology gets to the point where this is feasible and reasonable.  Until then we refuse to misrepresent what our products are capable of.  A Motherease system will cost you more but in 3 years you will still be using it.  It is a reliable diapering system for today’s busy parents.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

With best regards,
Sincerely,
Alex

Very impressive response Mother-ease!  It's honest, straightforward, and it makes sense!
