I have two boys in diapers. I use a dry pail and wash every day. I do the poopy diapers in a cold wash with 1/2 all free clear. Then I add the wet diapers and do a hot wash with 1/2 all free clear and a few drops of tea tree oil. Then another hot wash with 1/4 all free clear. The 8mo is only bf and his diapers smell clean after the first hot wash. The 3yo diapers still stink after the second hot wash. Not a urine smell, a poop smell. What am I doing wrong? I have increased the water temperature and done extra rinses. I have rinsed them to see if there is detergent buildup and there and there are no suds. I have tried different variations of baking soda, vinegar and bacout. Any suggestions?
