Just wanted to add that I think you're going to find that as the baby gets older, the length of time between outgrowing disposable sizes gets longer and longer. So, you really won't find yourself buying packages every few weeks in the next size up. I always keep one package of disposables handy for 'backups', but for the most part, I use the cloth diapers on all of our outings.
I also have a Bummis tote bag that I throw the wet/soiled diapers in, but I've also found the zippered wet bags that come included in most diapers bags works just fine for the same purpose.
