Absolute best way to get rid of stains effectivel and without harming your diapers (or the environment) is to sun them out! Hang them on the line in the sun for a few hours and watch them disappear (or at least fade a lot). Time and repeated washings can also help fade stains. Using liners can help prevent them and so can using a wet pail and/or rinsing them off before leaving to soak.
