Hi Carrie-- I, too, have a long skinny peanut with somewhat chubby thighs. The Airflow covers and the OneSize and Sandys fit wonderfully!
I never used Rikkis and have no need to. I wouldn't want to risk the velcro chafing our daughter, which I keep reading it can. I also don't want to have it lose its grip or getting stuck to anything and everything in and out of the wash.
Our daughter is only 3 months old, mind you, but she's a little pee machine-- and she's never ever had a leak or rash with our Motherease diapers! I change her every 2 hours at the very most. Right now she wears the SM Sandys or the OneSize and the MED Airflows. (I skipped buying the SM Airflows to get more use out of the covers)
I ensure the diapers get all tucked in the cover and that the stretch of the elastic is evenly placed around her legs.
The diapers and covers remain really easy to clean if she poops by using flushable liners (Kooshies here in Canada). I'm going to be trying the ME StayDry liners very soon (I'm sure they would help you with stopping rashes too) I couldn't be happier with the whole system! Good Luck to you!
