I started cloth diapering at 8 weeks with the small sandy's. I have 25 diapers and wash every other day. I use the 12 sandy's liners that came with the package offer. I only use them at night--I also add a fleece liner on top simply cut from a yard of fleece so the baby stays dry. If I could afford it I'd probably buy the Absorbent Liner Dry liners because they are absorbent and wick away the moisture.
The small sandy's would not have fit my 5lb 7oz baby, so if I would have cloth diapered from the start I would probably have ordered 30-36 x-small sandy's diapers because they seem to poop so much more in the early weeks.
