hi karen, thanks for the great ideas. i think we need to set our water temp higher, for sure (DH set it down to protect the kids) and also I guess I probably haven't been getting enough of the poopie off the dipes sometimes--because it's that really hard to get off stuff, the "pasted on poop" if you know what I mean. I do my best but some of it is just ingrained in the fabric, which I guess WOULD explain the smell although there is no staining. I do use the liners but not flushable inserts, I maybe need to consider that for the older boy. Thanks again and I"ll have DH increase the heat on the hot water today.
