You might check to see if your water softener needs more pellets. Try rinsing once. Then set it on the longest wash cycle. I use All FREE CLEAR for my detergent. Sometimes perfumey detergents actually hold in stinky smells. Be sure to add a cup of white vinegar to the final rinse cycle. Sometimes it helps to do 2 rinse cycles at the end of the wash cycle to make sure all of the detergent and vinegar is rinsed out. Do not use fabric softener!
: Hi, I know this subject has been posted many times before but I think I need some "personalized" help. I dry pail and wash daily but still have a poopie smell lingering on some of my dipes. I use tea tree oil for an hour to overnight for a soak, then rinse twice, then wash in hot water, then maybe an extra rinse, and machine dry. Still get a lingering smell. It's what made me quit CDing before but this time I have the good stuff (lots of ME) and really want to stick it out. I am currently diapering two boys ages 2 and 1 (yes....I am busy...grin) and they have some pretty major business in their pants.
: We do have very hard water here and we have a water softener system built in if that makes any difference.
: Any advice? I've been using Melaleuca detergent but tried Tide too and that seemed to make it worse.
: Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
