"Karen, I'm so glad the Toddlease works for your DD. I did consider shape differences but since my DD has so much room to grow yet in them I thought it likely yours would fit."

Well, you were right! You have no idea how thrilled I was that this worked, save myself a good chunk of money by using diapers and covers I already have! And yet how much I'm still kicking myself for having washed that one pair first! Oh well, I'll get some use out of it I'm sure. She's wearing it to bed tonight so we'll see how it works. I figure I may as well since it's already unreturnable anyway...

"ABout the training pants though...I had to laugh.....because I imagine mine would just pee a little and then catch it if I weren't so slow to respond! My reflexes left as soon as my 20's did :) (I'm 31 now)."

LOL! Well, it was kinda hard to miss with my daughter running to the bathroom shouting "Pipi" "Pipi" (we speak french at home)!

"With my DD (4.5 same as yours I guess!)"

When was yours born? Mine was January 11th 1999!

"I got a waterproof bed pad and figured that for the ocasional bedwetting (she doesnt wet every night) it would work out to be about the same amount of work (ie laundry and all that) if she just used that, as she felt she was ready to not use her Toddlease for that."

Yeah, mine does wet every night. Well, ok once every 2-3 weeks she'll have a dry night but that's it. It's funny cause she was really close to being dry at night about 1.5 years ago (just a few months after being dry during the day). She'd only wet her diaper once every 2-3 nights and we were sure she was on her way... Then summer came and she totally regressed. Our theory at the time was that it was because she was drinking more water cause it was hotter out so she just had more urine.... But we're now well over a year later and she's never gone back.... We try talking about it, encouraging her to not drink before bed (but I hate the idea of depriving her of liquids for those 'recomended' 2-3 hours before bedtime), making a big deal of nights when she is dry etc... But so far nothing's worked. Our next step is to wake her to use the toilet just before we go to bed, but I really hate that idea for a variety of reasons. Besides, seems to me that's not really solving/changing anything... If we stopped waking her, would she wake by herself? I have my doubts...

"How many kids do you have?"

We have two. Valerie, who's 4.5 and Jonathan who's 2.5.

"Have you CDed all along?"

With Valerie I did it on and off from about 8 weeks of age.... We had really crappy diapers and covers and I often felt I needed a 'break'... I basically did the same thing with my son (though I took less breaks this time cause I was more commited) until we invested in ME when he was 8 months old. I soooo wish we'd done that with my daughter. It would have made all the difference!

"Another thing I've wondered about...I dont have any of the sandies liners, i just use the liners from the OS, just nestle them in there like they say the sandies liners do. Do you use sandies liners and if so is there a big difference?"

I don't think there's much difference. I admit to mostly using wahm hemp liners right now though...

"OH, and I know the idea was suggested above, but another option for a cover for your DD might be just a cheapo Gerber pull on pant as it might be a little easier for her to pull on--but not necessarily. I personally hate washing them."

Yeah, I think I'll do something like that if we ever get to that stage.... Hopefully she'll be dry by the time she really outgrows the ones she's got now.

"AND if I have any kids who are wetting the bed at 6, 7, or whatever, the bedwetter pant it will be."

Yeah, I'm almost tempted to keep the ones I have for that exact reason... I already paid to have them shipped here and now I'll have to pay to ship them back, seems a waste if I'm just going to be ordering some a year or two from now... But then again, it would be a waste to keep them if I don't need them.... Decisions decisions....

"Heck, they would almost be nice in those late stages of pregnancy when you just dont want to bother to get up to go to the bathroom one more time....grin. Just kidding!"

OMG!! ROFLMAO!!! I almost fell off my chair laughing! The funniest part is that I remember in those last months of pregnancy glancing almost longingly at the packages of Depends... LOL! Too funny! I'll have to tell that to a friend of mine who is due any day now! She'll get a kick out of it!

"Are you planning on having more?"

I would like one, MAYBE even two more.... But hubby is pretty dead set against the idea of even one more... I'm hoping he'll change his mind but I'm not counting on it... You?

"OOHHH we should buy an XS sandy just to pass around and look at :) :)"

Fabulous idea! Though it might just get 'delayed' at my house while I drool over it! LOL! Reminds of when I was pregnant with my first and I had these cute little newborn cloth diapers with bunnies on them (they were cute but didn't work very well I found out later...) and I used to spend all this time arranging them, sorting them, pre-washing them, playing with them basically! LOL!

"Thanks again for the smelly laundry help! It's made me so happy to have such nice smelling dipes!"

Makes a big difference eh? I remember I had really bad odor problems once. Looking back I think it was an overload of detergent problem... But I didn't know that then and used an enzymatic cleaner and it did work very well. Made a difference in my enjoyment of cloth once we finally solved the problem...

Karen.
