Hi There--
Our nearly 5-month old dd has just started rice cereal and has been formula fed now for the past 2-1/2 weeks. Her poops are now MUCH more sticky and solid than with breastfeeding.
I've bought the ME Stay Dry liners and find that they're great. They're not hot the way fleece can be, and they're fairly easy to rinse and they wash beautifully. One side is smooth, and one side is very slightly fuzzy--this soft side goes toward baby's skin, as per Motherease.
I tend to use one when she's down for overnight or a nap, or when a poop is 'expected'. I use toilet paper first to grab some off or try and shake some off into the toilet--just makes cleanup a bit easier. Then I use the handheld (Shower Massage-type) shower sprayer, and have it set on a pretty strong jet. It works well to rinse off the poop, leaving no staining, and therefore no odour before washday.
When I wash them, I wash in hot or warm and remove them before putting the rest of the laundry in the dryer. I just hang them to dry and they're dry in no time at all.
