I did what someone else suggested and got two intro packages, one with a Sandy's and one with a one-size. (I would recommend trying two different covers as well, either a rikki and an air-flow, or two different sizes.)

You don't mention how big your baby is? I decided I like the Sandy's better, but for financial reasons I'm going to wait and get the large Sandy's, and in the meantime I use inexpensive diapers, which work well for now because it's not like my three month old is running around.

The impression I get is that the large Sandy's usually take longer for babies to grow out of than the one-size diapers. Also I think the Sandy's are cute and I find them easier to put on. But try for yourself because everyone is different.
