Hi. I think the weight range to 45lbs for the Toddle-ease is a bit on the optimistic side. My daughter is in Toddle-ease during the day. She is almost three years old, 38lbs, waist 22", legs 14": the Toddle-ease just fit her on the biggest setting (waist), I'd say comfortably but snugly. There is not enough room for her to pull them up/down. We also have a few of the small bedwetter pants, and that's what I would go for with an older child. My daughter can pull them up/down, although, there is not a LOT of room to grow for her in those (I think they're supposed to fit to 50lbs). I'd probably buy the next size up for your daughter. As far as absorbancy, the ME bedwetter pants work pretty well for us considering we're using them as diapers (when other night-time diapers are in the wash). I usually add a narrow hemp doubler which helps the absorbancy.
There are two other brands of bedwetter pants you may want to check out: Mother of Eden Overnight Undies -- look very thick, absorbant, waterproof -- and Biobottoms Stay Dry Pants (these are no longer made, but may still be able to find on ebay). We have not used either one, but I've seen them and they seem to be high quality & absorbant.
Hope that helps some. Good luck!
