I had the same experience and I was shocked! I bought my first set of unbleached ME dipes last summer and I didn't have to wash them as much as these new dipes I just bought. The first set (unbleached One Sizes) I had to wash 4 times. This last set (some unbleached small sandies and AIO's) I had to wash and then rinse about 8 times. I was a little disturbed by it because of the wear that the AIO's got out of all that washing w'out them even being used! (I kept flicking water on the dry dipes over and over watching it roll off disbelieving what I was seeing! until I had to admit that they needed another wash :))
I tell all of my new mommy friends about ME dipes and that they have to wash them 3,4, 9(?) times before the absorbancy kicks in. I really think that ME should change their washing instructions becuz it says to wash them just once. Wrong!
