: : I just started with the diapers and I love them. I feel so good that my dd and I are doing something about the waste problem that disposables produce. I find it very easy and I think she likes it so far because they are so soft. : : MY QUESTION: She is 6 weeks and we have the Motherease One size diapers. When she has them on, she seems like she can't pump her legs like she does to relieve gas, and she seems kind of rigid when I have her sitting in the swing or on my lap. Will her hips develop properly with so much bulk between her legs? Any thoughts? : We have a friend that is a doctor and his wife talked me into cloth diapers. She was telling me that when you have a newborn and you go for one of their first checkups, they push the baby's legs around to check for correct hip placement. She said he told her that some babies that don't have correct placement can have it kind of correct itself by wearing cloth diapers. I guess since they are kind of bulky and keep the legs in place, sort of like a sling might. Someone we go to church with had a baby with that problem and she had to wear cloth for a few months to help correct it. Just some extra medical knowledge I picked up from talking to them.
