Hi Corene:
I regularly use the Stay Dry liners, and they work very well to keep my DD dry. However, they do NOT absorb, they simply act as a barrier to keep pees and poops from coming in direct contact with her tender bum (preventing "feeling wet" and rashes).
(Polar)Fleece is 100% polyester, and therefore not absorbent. It is really warm and does not absorb water like cotton (terry) does.
If you're having trouble with leakage, maybe try a terry liner or 'doubler' or 2 inside the diaper first. Hemp is supposedly even more absorbent, but I've never used these.
We usually use the ME Sandys or Snap-in liner, then the StayDry liner laid on top. We've never had a leak or rash and she's changed about every 2 hrs. These terry liners are for extra absorbancy, whereas the thin polyester perforated-type (StayDry) liners are not.
If you do try this, especially if you use a couple terry liners, make sure your diaper cover still fits over the diaper to completely cover it and that tags and diaper edges are tucked right in the cover so they don't wick. Good Luck! Here's hoping for no more leaks!
