Now that my DS is a toddler I find I need a wipe with a bit more Oomph (I make my own out of Burley Knit Terry) but the cheap baby washclothes from Walmart are what I used for months! And they are still part of my wipe stash.

: Hi,
: The best cost-conscious option for reusable wipes are just to buy some really cheap washcloths at Wal-Mart or somewhere similar. They work great and are much much cheaper than disposables. I would recomend having approx 3 doz. as a good number, no less than 24. Really it depends on how often you're planning to wash... You can always buy 24 for starters and go back to get more later if you need them.
: Yes, you just throw them right in the pail with your diapers and wash them together. Couldn't be simpler. It's actually easier to use cloth wipes when you're using cloth diapers because then you don't have to seperate the disposable wipes from the diaper before throwing everything in the pail.
: I personally just wet them under the tap each time I need some. Never bothered with a fancy wipes recipe.... Everyone has their own preferance. Some keep a spray bottle near their change area and just spray wipes as they need them. Others fill a disposable wipes container with their cloth wipes and pour some water or wipes solution inside (enough for a day or two). You'll see what works best for you.
