: Hello ladies,

: Happy New Year to all.

: I have been cding my son for all 10 months of his life and I have now come up with a problem. He had diarrhea (sp?) one day and I was changing his diaper every hour. I guess that wasn't enough because he now has this raw wound on his bum :-(

: I have tried everything and every cream that I have (polysporin, bacatracin, olive oil based diaper cream, "special" diaper cream from paris, etc.). I keep changing him so that it doesn't stay damp but it's been almost a week and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

: Thanks for your help,

Hi Pamela,

We had this problem for awhile: it was not a rash exactly, but more like a raw sore that came on suddenly and wouldn't go away. I tried everything including perion creme, and doctor recommended Zincofax along with changes in my washing routine. I don't know if you are using disposable wipes or not, but what cleared it up was just using cloth wipes and warm water. The occassional time I used a disposable wipe (like when I was out), then this same sore always reoccured, so I knew it was that. Also I use Burts Bees creme for the odd heat rash, which has worked great. Just my experience.

HTH, karen :0)
