Hi Laura,
On top of the usual rinse rinse rinse suggestion (do that until there are absolutly no suds left, beware this could take 2-3 or even more completly cycles if you build-up is bad) I would suggest a couple more things.
First check the temp you're washing your diapers in. I can never remember the exact minimum temperature to wash in but you can always email ME to ask, I know they've posted about it in the past. You can also try one super hot wash by adding some boiling water in the wash tub (from a large pot for example). Just be very careful bringing it from the kitchen to the washer (make sure no kids are in the way and make sure no toys are on the floor!).
Next suggestion would be to try an enzyme cleaner like those they sell in pet stores to clean pet urine. They also make a brand called Mother's Little Miracle made especially for kid's messes (urine, vomit, spit-up etc...). I don't know where you can get it though, I got mine at a store that's now closed. But I've been told the pet one is basically the same just marketted to a different sector.
Karen.
