I've got a 2.5-year-old and a 7-week old both in cloth diapers right now, and it's no biggie. Some folks were pressuring me to try to toilet train the older one, but she's just nowhere near ready, and I didn't want to be juggling a nursing newborn and a newly-trained toddler ("Mom, I gotta go NOW!! NOW!!!") at the same time. A child in a diaper can wait five minutes while I finish what I have to do for her sibling.
Laundry-wise - yes, we do diapers more often, but I just bring the finished diapers upstairs and sort them into the two laundry baskets for the two kids. No biggie. I did get a slightly larger diaper bag, and I have also set up an extra changing table in our room so that I don't have to wake up the child when I change the infant in the middle of the night... but that's about it.
Hope that helps!
