Hi,

Actually if it's ease that's important to you, fitted diapers like the Mother-Ease ones are MUCH easier than prefolds. And there's no reason you can't use a dry pail with ME diapers, in fact many people do. I myself used to use a combination of dry and wet pail, depending on wether or not I was using my washer (I used the washer as a wet pail much of the time).

Fitted diapers like ME are much easier because you get much fewer if any poop-in-the-cover incidents to clean-up because the elastic in the diaper keeps poop inside instead of on the cover (where it's very likely to end up with prefolds). That also means you can get by with fewer covers because much fewer of them will be getting soiled.

Plus velcro wraps can be a bit of a pain (I personally avoid them like the plague!) because they're difficult to launder (you have to make sure they're closed before laudering or they'll get caught on other things in the laundry) and can scratch baby. I much prefer snap covers and if you use prefolds with snap covers then you have to use pins or a snappi (fairly easy to use but does require some practice).

If you can afford it I would highly recomend getting the Mother-Ease system. The only pros I can think of for prefolds are that they're cheaper and might dry a little faster.

Karen.
