Congratulations on switching over to Mother-ease. My son is six months old and he's been in Sandy's from the beginning. If you read slightly down this board you will see a post by KarenC pointing out the advantages of the Sandy's over the AIO's. I went with the Sandy's for the same reasons she stated and have never looked back. My son is 18lbs and is wearing the large Sandy's (just got into them this week). He is also breastfed and I have had no problems with stains. I do use a homemade fleece liner and a disposable liner in each diaper. This works to keep his skin feeling dry and to prevent stains in the diapers. Maybe this is overkill but it works for me! If you can afford them I really like the ME staydry reusable liners. I have a few of them and would like to use those in all of the diapers, but just haven't found any used ones at a decent price.
I do have some One-size ME diapers, but I definitely prefer the Sandy's. You could get an introductory pack of each one and try them both out. Some people swear by the One-size (OS) and they are ME's most popular selling diaper. In my experience they do fit a bit more trim than the Sandy's.
Many people use a combination of ME diapers. Sandy's and OS and/or AIO's. You may want to try several to come up with your own best solution. The great part about it is that if you decide that something doesn't work for you or that you bought too many you can sell them for about 75% or more of what you payed for them. If you wanted to you could even buy used ones to try. I have had great success here and on ebay with buying used ME diapers.
Just my humble opinions, but I hope it helps.
