I completely agree with Karen about the Keeper. You don't even notice it's in, and can leave it in much longer than a tampon. In fact, I have it in now (blush, sorry), and it's been in all day without being emptied, and I don't even notice it there.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING ABOUT THE KEEPER is that it makes menstruating so easy that you can almost forget you've got your period. Seriously. Virtually no leakage, no stings hanging out, and many other benefits. Thumbs up - I'm done forever with tampons!
: I use a combination of Luna-Pads (www.bareware.com and probably other places, but that's where I got mine) and the Keeper. The Keeper is great! It's a natural rubber cup that you insert just like a tampon and it catches menstrual fluid. I was really hesitant at first, scared it wouldn't work or wouldn't be comfortable.

I really don't feel that I'm making ANY kind of sacrifice for the environment's sake, in fact I feel this is actually easier than what I was doing before.
