Hi,

I just wanted to add that I do a combo of the two systems, and I really like it.

I actually find folding a prefold in thirds, sticking it in a velcro cover, and just velcroing it on is much faster than snapping on a fitted and then snapping on a cover. I actually find it as easy as an all-in-one diaper. Also, I find the prefolds much trimmer. Many of her clothes fit over a prefold, but not over a Motherease diaper. I handwash my covers, so the velcro isn't an issue in the wash.

That said, I love my Motherease diapers. I use them especially for long outings, and always for overnight. They definitely do a better job of keeping runny poo off the covers, as well.

One other problem with prefolds is most people get two sizes, the infant and the premium, as their babies grow. Although I don't think a premium would be any bulkier on a newborn than a one-size diaper. Infant prefolds can be reused as doublers, although they're bulkier than a ME liner.

You can also line-dry prefolds easily-- I find ME diapers get hard and stiff if I try to line dry them. ME diapers also take longer to dry in the dryer. My washing and pail method is the same for all my diapers, though. I use a dry pail, although particularly nasty looking diapers go in a small covered bin beside the toilet or in my laundry tub.

My baby is just about six months and has 13 large Sandy's diapers, one ME onesize, 13 premium prefolds, 3 infant prefolds, and 12 terry no-folds (they work much like prefolds do, although I find I need to snappi them on).
