I use a dry pail and find that it works just fine. I get as much of the poop off and then put the diaper in the pail. Until you start solids their poops are ok to go in the washer... and when they start on food, just use a wipe to get as much as you can off or BETTER YET, use a fleese liner to help it come off easy and aviod diaper rash. I did not so this at first, it has made all the difference!
At the end of the day, or end of two days (I let them go up to four days, but not more) I put them in the washer. You can also just put them directly in the washer, with or without water, and when it is full, start the load). Just do a prewash first with a few teaspoons of ALL (FREE AND CLEAR) degergent and then a regular wash in HOT with a fourth a cup of degergent or less... use 1/4 cup vinegar on the rince, it helps get all the soap out.
Bleach and oxiclean are not good for cloth diapers, and you really dont need it. Hang them to dry in the sun and they will be white agian!
