Size L Sandies and Potty Training

My dd is 21 months old and has just started to briefly use the potty. Obviously, she will be in diapers for a few months longer until she is ready for training pants.
My problem is that she has been using size M Fuzzi Bunz for over a year now (size L at night with a premium pre-fold, never leaks, awesome!) and occasionally the ME One-Size or a Sandy diaper with an Alexis pull on pant during the day as backup. She weighs about 26 pounds now, and has clearly outgrown her Fuzzi Bunz. I love the absorbency of the FB, but they are expensive, and I worry that they may hinder potty training, being fleece lined. The good thing is that I have found that they can be pulled up and down (by me, but too hard for her).
I really really wanted the Sandies to work for her, since they are more absorbent than the OS, and can be pulled up and down (a real plus when potty training, I think!) but she actually can still fit (barely) into the size S, and the new size L I have for her fits, but is soooo bulky in the front. It has way too much material for her right now. I have a feeling that the bikini cut of the FB has me spoiled, but the OS is not nearly as bulky as the Sandy. Has anyone else noted this? I don't think I should buy any size S Sandies. It almost seems like ME needs a size Medium Sandy. Now I don't know what to buy! We are adopting again (baby from China this time) so my diapers will definitely be used again. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
