I put my ME OS through the wash, hot water, twice, along with the liner, then put them and the AF cover on my 2-year-old overnight, for a test run.
It worked like a charm. When I changed him this morning, the front part of the diaper and liner (around the "hose")was soaking right through (he's a boy, and a heavy wetter at night) but the cover was completely dry, inside and out, and not a single leak! No wicking, either -- the diaper absorbed the moisture right where it was "deposited".
Alex's skin was a bit wet, but I think he had just peed. I just gave his skin a good wash.
Plus, Alex loved the diaper. When I put it on him last night, he exclaimed, "Look at that, Mumma!" and ran around the apartment a few times. When I told him to touch it, he said, "Oh, soft!"
My conclusions: when I buy my part-time pack for Alex, I'll buy 12 Sandy's large or toddler ease with liners, because the OS was soaked to capacity last night with a liner. We're only going to diaper when he's at home at nights and weekends, the sitter prefers disposables.
But I'll definitely buy a 24 to 36 OS package for my new baby, due in August. If it can stand up to the overnight toddler test, the OS sounds like a good investment.
