Hi Kelly,
First I would not advise using Oxy-Clean, especially not in every load. It's really not necessary (most stains will come out well with a little time in the sun!) and it could shorten the life span of your diapers. It's not as bad as chlorine bleach of course but by the manufacturer's own admission (someone from this board actually contacted them once and asked) it is a solvant and will add to the wear of fabrics.
As for how much detergent, most people find they need no more than about 1/4-1/3 of the recomended amount. I don't have any advice for particular brands (except to stay away from any detergents with bleach or fabric softeners, be wary of 'baby' detergents as many contain softeners) but you could always experiment with different brands and even different types (liquid vs powder).
Karen.
