Everyone told me I was crazy, and maybe so, but I'm going on three months now and loving it. We do a dry pail and rinse out the poopies before tossing them in. And we only go once a week. It does get a bit stinky, but I add a cup of vinegar to the rinse to neutralize the amonia and don't use too much soap. I still do not double rinse and we've had no diaper rash yet. Some good advice I read: keep it simple to start: add extra steps\ingredients only when rash appears. Covers should be washed only when they start to smell or are soiled and they do not go in the dryer. I have about 75 CPFs and they last a week. Also depending on where you live you could save money by line drying. It's worth a shot-you can always sell them/use them for cleaning cloths later if it doesn't work out. Good luck!
: Hi, I'm expecting my first baby in a couple months and REALLY want to use cloth diapers. However, I do not have a washer and therefore must use the laundromat. I'm wondering if I am realistic in hoping to cloth diaper and do all the washing at a laundromat? I'd love to hear if I'm being realistic, and if so, what techniques work best? Because I'm busy working on my Ph.D., I'd prefer to only go to the laundromat once a week. Thanks!!
