I think it should be ok once you soak them with the baking soda. I had something similar happen to me a couple weeks ago. A dirty diaper was left lying on top of two covers for a couple of days (don't ask!!! LOL!) and even after two washings they still stank. I soaked them in a sinkful of water and baking soda (not sure how much I used but I was very liberal with it) overnight then washed them a third time and they're fine now.
