I think that this is normal of the first few washings - it happened to me once during the initial washings because I put too many in the washer. I think it was more of a lint build up than pills.
Try washing less the first few times - I only washed about 8 together during the initial washings, plus liners.

: I've used prefolds and Bummis Super whisper wraps (the snap kind) covers - no problem. I washed my new mother ease sandy's diaper and the one size (I got the trial packs) with some prefolds and my mother ease diapers have fuzzy little pills on them! Does anyone else have this problem? Or is this a defect in workmanship? My chinese prefolds have held up for 8 months without pills - so I don't know what is going on!!!
: If I can only wash mother ease diapers with motherease diapers then this would be a real pain....
