i started using the one size when my son was 10 days old (just after his cord fell off), and i found just the diaper and cover (i also use a disposible liner for easy clean up) for the day and at night i just add a fleece liner that i made from fleece i brought at walmart (no sewing needed as fleece doesnt unravel). But we do change him when he wakes up for his night feed.
