My niece has worn cloth since her very first diaper. She weighed 8lbs 10oz at birth and is now 7 weeks old and over 10lbs. She wears CPFs with a flushable liner, snappi to keep closed and a ME extra small rikki wrap. For the first week when she still had her cord, my sister would fold down the front of the cover to keep it out of the way.
She'll start wearing her ME OS dipes as soon as they're not quite so bulky.
So far cloth diapers are great. We haven't mastered it completely though and she'll sometimes leak poop down her leg (almost always the left leg...) but in the end, even the inconvenience of having to toss a poopy sleeper in with the diaper laundry... well, it's not all that bad.
