Hi there,
I have off and on had problems with stinky diapers. I find pretty much no matter what I do that I have to use liners and get the poop off the diapers, most of it anyhow, and I have to wash twice in hot then rinse. That is just me and my water and what works best for my son (age 2 1/2). I find that following those principles I get clean diapers. I also occasionally use Shaklee Nature Brite Enzyme cleaner of Bac-Out Enzyme cleaner (cheaper and from the health food store but less whitening).
We use -
Purex
Tide
Trader Joes "Next To Godliness" All with success.
I find I can not use the Costco detergent on the diapers, tho it works fine on my regular clothing, nor have we done well with the following-
7th generation
All free and clear
"Extra"
home made detergent
or Ivory .
Try the Purex first, it is among the cheapest!
