The Mother-ease® Story
The Little Business That Grew

Not so ideal as we can see!
Our eldest son, Aaron, was born in 1981. At that time, I used traditional flat, rectangular cloth diapers, which need to be folded and pinned, along with the plastic pant which went over top to keep his clothes dry. My next two children were cloth diapered this same way, but by the time our fourth child arrived, I had concluded that there MUST be a better way of cloth diapering. In deference to the environment and to minimize cost, I was determined not to use disposable diapers.

(The picture to the right was taken In 1983 of our eldest son, Aaron at the age of two modeling his cloth diapers. Pins hold a flat pre-folded cloth diaper in place. A rubber pant is pulled over top.) Not so ideal as we can see.

Shortly after Sandy was born, I set to work to design a diaper that would make my life easier and Sandy’s more comfortable. The result was our breathable All In One cloth diaper. With an exclusive side ventilation system, it combines an outer waterproof cover with an inner absorbent cotton material. Plastic snaps make cloth diapering easy and it fits a baby’s bottom snugly.

(Pictured below is Sandy wearing his All In One cloth diapers on our family camping vacation to Florida in 1991.)

The Mother-Ease Success Story!

We soon discovered a need for a cloth diaper for heavy wetters. I designed our Sandy’s™ cloth diaper and appropriately named it after him. With a snug fit it is shaped to fit a baby’s contours, but is of a heavier construction and snaps shut at the sides. The diaper comes in two sizes. In order to make it waterproof, this cloth diaper requires a separate cover.

Diapers that Grow with the Child!

There was still a need for a cloth diaper that could "grow with the child". After much thought, I designed a unique cloth diaper that, when folded over, revealed a row of snaps that could be used to accommodate a small baby. As the child grew the snaps continued to be adjustable and the cloth diaper would fit until about 35 lbs, therefore eliminating the need to buy a multi sized diapering system. I named this cloth diaper the One Size™.

The Mother-Ease Story!
Now I had beautiful cotton diapers but had trouble finding a waterproof cover to use over top of them. Most covers were not cut to fit my diapers. My diapers peeked out of the covers and I had to keep tucking the diaper back inside.

In 1993 when our fifth son was born I set to work again. My goal was to create a truly breathable diaper cover that did not leak at all.

By this time news of our Mother-ease® diapers was spreading. My husband Rick decided to join the exciting venture full-time and now we run the company together.

Life did not stand still and the arrival of 5 grandchildren since 2008 has allowed us to design our new “Wizard Line” of slim fitting cloth diapers.

Our Wizard Line offers parents the convenience of all-in-one diapers with a slim fit, great absorbency and excellent drying times.
