| Okay, so when I bought these diapers I was in the understanding that stains would just sun right out. Well, I picked out all the diapers that have stains out of my stash, washed them and put them on the line. I left them there for three days and the stains are still there. Honestly I don't think they have even lightened much. Is there some trick to this that I am missing? Are they just that stubborn? Is there something else I can do that might do the trick? I relize that this will not affect how the diapers work, but I am getting more and more people interested in converting to cloth and I hate that they see the stains. I feel like it is sometimes a discourgement to someone who already thinks cd'ing is gross. We use fleece liners in every diaper to cut down on the stains, but the poo manages to find its way around it sometimes. Especially when she is at the stitter. |

HI there,
That's interesting because I have always been able to sun my stains out. Try applying Borax directly to the stain before the next wash. I use it as a whitener, and I can honestly say that for a natural product, it is quite impressive. I have been cloth diapering for about two months, and I have yet to see a stain on my dipes. Sometimes they are stained out of the wash, but they usually come out in the sun. Perhaps if you keep sunning them every time you wash (at least a few more times) it might work. Good luck. Liz |

| Is this bf poo staining? Seriously, mine were like brand new diapers after one dose of sun (although I should say that I don't put mine in the dryer--could that set stains more?). Stains from older children can be harder to get out, but should fade with sun. I had a batch from a friend once that I was selling for her and wanted to get a little nicer-looking. Oxy-clean didn't do much, but a few liberal doses of lemon juice on the stains combined with sunning really made those tough stains fade to nearly nothing. |

| This is solids poo. I never had any trouble with just bf poo comming right out in the wash, they looked great untill we started her on solids. I do use the dryer most times, she was a winter baby and we have had an unusually wet spring here so I havn't had much opertunity to line dry. |

Washing everyday is simply not an option for me. I am wondering, are you soaking them in anything, or just plain water? |

| first I get the load ready and soak with the soap, wash and if it were my dipes I would resoak with just water, BUt I am new to cloth dipes, but it gets out blowout stains from his onesies etc after they have been in the dryer. |

| Have you tried spraying them with Liquid OxyClean? It comes in a blue bottle with a spray nozzle, looks alot like Windex actually! There is nothing that stuff can't get out-seriously! My dipes all come out looking brand new every single time! We use it as a stain spray on our other laundry too. Gets out tomato sauce, blood, grass stains, spit up...you name it with a 7 year old boy and a 7 month old boy! I highly recommend it. Sunning has never worked as well for us as this stuff. Cheers! |

Sunning works miracles with breastfed baby poop stains but it takes a lot more to get out solid food poop stains. It should eventually work though, just keep hanging out there and eventually they'll be stain-free. I had heavily stained diapers (solid poop stains) that I wanted to sell. I'd tried all kinds of soaks, including Oxy-clean etc... It helped a lot but the stains were still there so I just hung on the line and basically forgot about them for over a week. I wasn't expecting much as I'd hung them out before with few results and all the soaks hadn't worked either. Well, low and behold, I took them off the line after all that time and the stains had completly disappeared! Now, I know that hanging on the line for a week or more is hardly convenient and I'm not suggesting you need to do this every time. My point is just that with time it does work, so if you hang the stained ones outside every time you wash that it should help a lot.
Or, and this is my favorite option, dye them!! Bright and dark colors will totally hide any and all stains!! You'll never have to worry about stains again and people will be even more impressed by how funky and fun your diapers are!

| I just hung my stained diaper in the window and the stain was almost out in like 2 hours. Maybe try that. I did notice with my bamboo, they dpo eventually come clear, over time. |

| I find if I have a bad stain that is really stuborn, I lay the diaper flat in the sun, like on my deck rail and that nearly always works. |
