question Detergent recommendation for CO? (aavt)
Posted: 10:50:24 am on 7/5/2008 Modified: Never

I've recently moved to the Boulder area.  After dealing with what I believe was a build-up issue acquired at my MIL's (Tide and horrible water), my diapers are to an okay place, but I am still getting a killer ammonia smell at night (that I had not previously gotten in 3.5 years of CDing in the UK with my front-loader and store-brand non-bio detergent).
I have a top-loader and have been using Purex Free and Clear (that's what hubbie bought because it was cheap, but it does get decent ratings from Pinstripes and Polkadots lady).
So I'm wondering if anyone who's in the area, or really probably anywhere with water coming from the mountins, has a detergent suggestion for diaper happiness.
Thanks!

We live in the mountains and I have recently started using soap nuts, and I have to say I LOVE them.  I haven't had anyproblems with smell, build up etc. and you can using them for lots of other things besides laundry.  HTH
