Hi there!
Well, I've been using ME Sandy's and OS for just over a month and they already smell.   faintly of poo and more of pee)
I'm also using some BumGenius 3.0 pockets, and they do not smell at all.
Right now, I'm washing every other day.....cold rinse first, then warm wash then usually hang to dry. I'm using Claudia's Choices detergent (cloth diaper approved).....and nothing else. I'm hesitant to start fooling around with vinegar and other stuff....anyone know what might be causing this?????????
Could it be that my washing machine water is only warm....and doesn't get really hot????? I can't see it being too much detergent, cuz I'm not even using the full scoop and it's already a small scoop to begin with!!!!!
Thanks!

| I would try more detergent. When my diapers smell like that it is usually because i didn't use enough. |

|
| I tried a cup of vinegar in my rinse, I know you said you did not want to, but it was reccommended by Ericka of ME and so i tried it, and it worked. |

UPDATE**:
So I washed my dipes with a little more detergent, and some baking soda in hot water.
Then I added vinegar to the rinse and they smell brand new!!!
I'm sooooo happy! Thanks for the suggestions, ladies. |

Hi, I'm new here with 7 week old twins. Am just about to start using my ME OS now that the kids are 8 pound and filling out.
Do you wash first on a PreWash Soak cycle? I was just wondering how you go about adding the vinegar to the rinse cycle, since a normal cycle automatically goes on to rinse without stopping.
Thanks! Amanda |

| If you have a front loader you can just add vinegar to the "fabric softener" compartment and if you have a top loader you can use a "bounce ball" which opens up by itself when the rinse cycle begins.... |

Where does one get a "bounce ball"? Do they have them at stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond?

|
| You can get one in any big stores like Zellers, Walmart, etc... Even some grocery stores have them! |

What are these "bounce balls" actually called? I looked in Kmart and Target and couldn't find anything that resembled them.
Thanks! Amanda |

I think they're actually called just that. They're made by "Bounce" to put liquid fabric softener in and it's made specially that it gets released during the rinse cycle. It would probably be in the laundry aisle, with the fabric softeners.

| Actually they are called Downy balls as well. They are a plastic ball with a ring on the top to pull the top which has a rubber seal on it shut. Then it opens on the rince cycle. |

Duh! You're totally right! I don't use fabric softener so it's not fresh in my mind... I doubt there's such a thing as a Bounce ball cause Bounce only makes dryer sheets don't they? Wouldn't make sense for them to make liquid fabric softener dispensers...
Karen.
