Hi everyone,

Ok, I'm trying to get my mom a bit greener... She has a mild to moderate incontinence problem (small - medium leaks when she sneezes or laughs too much). So far she's just been using disposable period pads or sometimes incontinence pads. She can't wear anything colored 'down there' so any colored pads are out... She's very very skeptical about all this so I would need something very easy to use - so definetly no pins! and very easy to wash. Preferably not too expensive since she's really not sure that this will last. Of course she said she'll just give it to me should she not like it so maybe I should just pick something I'd like! LOL!

Anyone have any experience with this? Should she go for actual cloth incontinence pads (I've heard these exist but I'm not even sure where to get them)? Or just a cloth menstrual pad? Keep in mind that minimal bulk will probably be important to her since she's used to disposable and isn't keen on all this in the first place.

Karen.

Thanks, I'll have to explore my options. Have to ask my mom some questions too...

Thanks for the sites. The wool looks cool but I doubt my mom would be willing to hand wash it...

I have the same problem, so need to wear something all the time; very annoying! I've been using Janet's pads now for several years.  They are wonderful! Normally I just need the panti-liner for every day wear but when out and about or jogging, i use the mini-pad with the fleece liner; very trim and comfy.  And they hold up wonderfully as mine have been washed daily for ages, yet you'd never know it.  She's a super WAHM too.
Think she's taking this week off but normally she stocks every Monday, so not too hard to get. She ships promptly and communicates really well.  I'd highly recommend her!
Good luck!  Hope you find something she likes.  I'd never go back to plastic again.  Oh and the bamboo ones are my favorite!

eta: my pantiliners have an ultrasuede backing to them but it looks like she may be only using the fleece backing for all her pads, which is great as well.

I bet if you email Pietra @ homemademomma.com she can help you.  She helped me so much with the cloth momma pads, she has a lot of panty liners, momma pads etc.  I am sure you are not the first.  Please post your findings, I am trying to convert my grandma.
