  absorbent liners question (Ginger)

I will be diapering my new baby with ME One Size diapers.  When should I use an absorbent liner?  I've talked to a cloth diapering friend and she wasn't much help.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and for helping out a new Mom.

Absorbent liners are used, for the most part, only over night, naps, long car rides or other times when you are not able to change the diaper as frequently.  For a newborn you will not need absorbent liners as newbies are changed so very often.  As babe gets older he/she may be a "heavy" wetter and at that time you may have to use a liner with every diaper, but chances are that won't happen.  You just have to wait and see!

I don't think you will need to worry about liners for a while.  I don't start using them until my babies are eating solids, just to help with the removal of the poop (easier to dunk the liner than the diaper).  By a year, I do find they need the extra absorbancy a liner provides.

All the best with your little one's arrival!

We needed the liners right away with our son. He's always been a heavy wetter since birth. At first we used 1 liner for overnights, but by 1 month of age, 1 liner was no longer enough to get him through 4-5 hours of nighttime sleeping. I'd wait and see personally. You can pickup some pre-folds at your local Wal-mart to fold up into the diaper and use to add absorbency until you know if you've got a heavy wetter or not. My first son was not a heavy wetter but our second son is. You just never know what you're gonna get until you got it!
Congrats!
