I never bought AIOs with my son, but I would like to have some for going out and for when my daughter is at day care.  She will only be there one day a week until she's 5 months, and then full time.

I tried to have my son continue in cd when he started daycare at 8 months, but it didn't last more than a few months.  The biggest issue was the poopy diapers.  His sitter put them in a separate bag, but not rinsed.  I would take them home, clean them up and put them in the pail.  Sometimes it would get left in the car for a day.  Yuk.  After a long days work, cleaning up old poop diapers of a kid eating solids is less than fun.  So, we just did cd at home after he was a year old.

My daughter still only has bf poop - no rinsing, no problem.  I think AIOs would make things easier for the sitter, although it isn't a must.

How many AIOs have you bought/feel is a good number to have around?  They are pretty expensive, so I'm not planning to buy a full days worth of diapers...

Thanks!
Anneke

The thing about the AIOs is that they don't come in bamboo fabric.  I tend never to use mine as the fabric is nowhere near as soft on my baby's bum.  It also seems like the poop does no rinse off as easily.  I much prefer the OS.

I bought almost a full days worth and use them when we have days where we are gone to the dr, therapy, etc most of the day. I love them! Not as soft as bamboo or as easy to rinse, but worth it for the ease of the day with twins.

Have you found that they wear out quickly?

I have not seen great wear. However, they do not get the use my Sandy's get (used 1-2 times a week). I have started line drying them and I'm sure that will keep the wear down more. Some say they take a long time to dry, which they do, but they dry faster than my L Sandy's bamboo.
