New Design on Air Flow Covers? (anniespink)

The extra small (6-12 lbs) was great, actually we still use ours sometimes and baby's close to 18 lbs...but we really don't like our air flow covers for 10-20 lb babies.  They're so much bulkier and aren't just larger than the extra small, they have a different design with snaps that are located on reverse sides.  Is this a new design or is it just because of the size difference?  How do I get AF covers in the same style as the extra small, but in larger sizes?

It's a different design for the larger sizes. The x-small and small have the snaps on a different side than the larger sizes. Unfortunetly you can't get larger sizes in the same snap configuration, but the design itself is the same thing, it's likely just fitting your little one differently because it's bigger. The Airflow does tend to be quite a pouffy cover but it's not really bulk as such, if you put it under clothing you'll find that all that 'pouf' gets pushed out (as it's just air).

I didn't like the new "way" the snaps snapped on the larger sizes either, but you get used to them. Here you just get used to something and then it changes. Keeps us awake(or just confused, HAHA)! Somebody once told me it was because older kids had a harder time unsnapping them if they were "backwards" from the smaller sizes?...I suppose....really, who is in charge anyway! My hubby still tries to put them on backwards due to the snap thing....Funny.....That is if he remembers to put on the cover!
Cheers!

I recently took out an XS cover to put on a doll for my boys and noticed the snap difference. I vaguely remember this when going from the XS to the M! But, since it took me a moment to remember this at all after a year (and continued to question my memory), I'm sure that before long you'll forget the old configuration.

I've got 2 in diapers right now - a newborn and a toddler. So I'm switching back and forth between small and large AF covers all day long. It took me a while to realize that it was the covers, not my sleep deprived state, causing the confusion with the snaps!!

I asked a question about that when I made the switch... I thought ME was trying to torture sleep-deprived parents by changing the placement of the snaps. Someone suggested (and it made a lot of sense to me, whether or not it's true) that the snaps are more on the front for smaller babies as they spend most of their time on their back, but as they grow older they spend more time on their tummy, crawling, so they put the snaps more on the side. Not sure if it's the true reasoning but I like it!
