Someone gave me a small bummis whisper wrap, and I really like it for my small sandys.  It is a very trim fit.  I find, tho, that it doesn't really fit around my OS, even on the smallest setting (with the snaps overlapping).  Am I doing something wrong?  I've never used anything but ME AFs, and I was wondering how other people like their bummis wraps, how are they as far as leakage, and how do the mediums fit around OS?  My DS is probably 11 lbs and growing fast!

Bummis fit ok over ME diapers, tends to depend on which diaper you're using and sizing of cover/diaper. The potential issue with other covers like Bummis is that they're not cut the same way ME diapers are (and often are made to fit over prefolds). ME diapers tend to be wider on the hips that prefolds and some other fitteds so not all diaper covers offer as good coverage as do ME covers. I've used Bummis though and they do work ok, but like you said, sometimes the fit isn't ideal. I found that by making sure everything is tucked in and avoiding using them at night (when the sides of the diaper are likely to get soaked) then they're ok.

If you prefer the trimmer looking fit (they're not actually trimmer than the Airflows in terms of actual bulk, it's just that the Airflows allow more air inside so they're pouffier) then you could always try the Rikkys. They're similar to Bummis in that they're a wrap and not as pouffy as the Airflow, but obviously they're fit perfectly over ME diapers.

Karen.

I use the Bummis Super Brites and I must say I really like them.. They are all we use(other than wool) and I have no problems at all with them.  I am not sure how they are different from the whisper wrap so i can't help much there, sorry.   I do make sure to check that no parts of the diaper are pokeing out, but dh has forgotten to check and we still had no problems.

Do you use them over the OS?  What size do you need for it to fit properly?

I use it over both OS (which is what I mainly have) and the Sandy's.  I can use either a Med. or Lg. ove top. Now that Abby is getting bigger (she is 1 year old and 22 lbs,)when she is wearing a Med. bummis i have to pay more attention to making sure there is no diaper peeking out. although i do this with all the fitteds that I have. The large covers no problem, but its a bit big so we generally only use it for naps, or under dresses.  I hope this makes sense. It's still early and i am not fully awake.
