Yup, absolutly. Done it numerous times... You may want to do a pre-rinse before adding other clothing or just make sure they're well-rinsed before putting them in the pail. Probably not strictly necessary but it's made me feel better and it's fairly standard to do a pre-rinse anyway... You could lower the water setting on your washer, but depending on your washer, even the lowest level may still be too much for 6 or less diapers so adding other clothing is definetly a good idea. I've added whites, towels, that kind of thing. Basically whatever can stand the hot water used to wash the diapers.
