Borax vs Washing Soda for diapers? (nakedbabytoes)

Howdy Ladies!
I've been using washing soda to wash dipes most of the 10 months since my son was born. It is very hard to get here locally in Nebraska, so today when I was at the store and was desperate, I bought Borax. I did some research online when I got home and the 2 seem quite similar in what they do and how they do it. Does anybody here use Borax or know if it does a good job? Anyone come across things I should know about health issues? I appreciate the info!
Cheers!

I have used both and don't really notice a difference. I find my diapers are fresher with borax or washing soda.
