OK. SO DS had a poo diaper and it was green. Very green. Like I never saw green before. He does eat a lot of broccoli, but it is like crayon green. Does this mean he may have eaten a crayon? Has this happened to anyone? This is child # 2 but #1 in cloth diapers.

I had this same thing happen to my toddler and it was when I had given him black licorice. I tried again one other time and confirmed that, yes, black licorice will turn poops to the strangest alien green ever. Not sure if there are other foods that will do that, but that's what it was for us!Anna

This has happened to my lil one when he eats broccoli, Fruit Loops or blueberries. It has happened numerous times. In order to prevent staining, I wash it with Dial Soap and do my best to remove the stains. I know this sounds harsh as far as the type of soap that I use in this type of circumstance, but it's effective, and it hasn't weekend the fibers in my diapers.

We've had really green poop before with nothing obviously green being consumed. I think that some fruits can cause this, even beyond the obvious culprits like berries.
With a newborn, green poop can indicated gassiness or foremilk/hindmilk imbalance, but I don't know that green poop in a toddler is a bad thing unless there are other signs of intestinal issues

I remember being shocked when my little one had bright green poop... it turned out at daycare they had served blue Hawaiian Punch. For some reason, that stuff really turns it bright green.

I was curious so I looked this up quickly online and turns out it's anything with blue food coloring in it that can turn poop green! Apparently the blue from the food coloring mixes with the bile in the digestive system and makes green poop! Seems harmless although I can understand the slight freak out!

I remember when my first dd was little and she had kiwis for the first time. Well, let's just say that those little black seeds pass through the digestive system intact and mommy just about had a heart attack thinking her beautiful baby girl had some kind of parasite that had laid eggs or something!!! It took me about 30 seconds to remember the kiwis and it was the longest 30 seconds of my life!

Thanks for all the comments. I just did not want my son consuming any crayons, I know they say they are nontoxic but I fear lead. I can't think of anything different he ate. He is so picky. (Yet this does not stop him from putting everything else in his mouth.) Maybe just a tootsie roll for the first time. (His reward for peeing on the potty with no complaints.)
