7 month old night time solution (ritchieberry)
Posted: 8:15:35 am on 10/8/2008 Modified: Never

I have a 7 month old and use sandy's small diapers with an air flow cover.
I have never had a leak but she is starting to be very wet at night time. Is there a liner or doubler that will help to keep her feeling dry at nighttime?

Thanks

ME sells stay-dry liners that you can use. Either just on their own or sewn on top of an extra absorbancy liner.

But personally I'd recomend just making your own fleece liners. They work just as well and are much cheaper. Just get any old cheap polyester fleece and cut to the size/shape you want. That's it, you're done. No sewing necessary because fleece doesn't unravel... The fleece (or pre-made stay-dry liner) works because it doesn't absorb liquids. It lets liquid through and dries almost instantly, keeping baby's skin dry.

Oh, and it's probably a good idea to start using a doubler (or extra absorbancy liner) to help boost the absorbancy of the diaper. It won't really help with keeping her skin dry as such, but at least the diaper won't be quite as saturated.

Any one will do. I love the bamboo because it's trimmer, has anti-microbial qualities and is soooo soft! But the cotton will work just as well and is a little less expensive.

There's a smallar lay-in liner/booster specifically for the S Sandys.  It doesn't hold quite as much as the snap-in for the OS or lay-in for the L Sandys (they're the same, just with or without snaps), but those would likely be a little bit long at present.  If it's just for use at night, though, you could always just fold any extra length over the front; as long as it's inside the cover it's all good.  That would be a little bulky for normal use, but for night, hey, a little more absorbancy.  Otherwise you can always just use the smaller boosters with the larger diapers at a later point, too.

My girls are 7 months old and I just put a bamboo liner in their small bamboo sandys. It works great!Memoriesmama--Mother to seven girls!
