Well, folks, it's been a little slow recently, which I hope means that no one is having any problems. But it's a little dull to check in on this forum and see nothing new, so here's my contribution--and my challenge: Diaper-themed haiku.
Many of you know this, but haiki is an unrhymed Japanese verse form usually consisting of three lines and seventeen syllables, typically in a five-seven-five syllable division. Traditionally, haiku evoke an emotion through strong imagery, typically of nature, but as those of you who have weekly haiku contests in the paper or whatever know, you don't have to get too hung up on that when you're just having fun. Enjoy each other's creativity! Multiple contributions welcome . . . :-)
(and if someone feels led to create a limerick or sonnet, go for it!) |

This is fun! Thanks for starting it. I too have been finding things slow....a good sign for everyone I guess!
Here is a little ditty I just wrote out:
Lovely cotton bum, No more papery crinkles, Oh, my healthy girl.
Let's have some more! Brenda |

(Don't worry, I won't quit the day job . . .)
There once was a mother in Wales Who bought herself two diaper pails. “Save the planet I must-- Use cloth diapers or bust!” Now she scoffs at disposable sales.

| Wow, is it ever quiet! Is it that no one is having CD'd babies anymore, or that the diapers are so wonderful that no one has problems or questions? I hope it is the latter... But I was used to reading the forum when I needed a break at work (!?!) and I miss it! |

I know, sigh . . .
I'm still waiting for someone to write a diaper sonnet! :-) |

Ok, then, here I go... At least I think it's a sonnet:
Once upon a time, a mother-to-be Was told of something called cloth diapers And once she had heard how nice it could be She closed her ears to all social dampers
She welcomed her son on a summer day She diapered him in fabric aglow And from that moment there was just no way That she would look back to the paper foe
He son was happy, his skin was healthy The landfill was spared a great deal of pain And to those who thought it would be messy She showed their worries had all been in vain
There goes the story of a happy mum Who found her solace in a bamboo bum |
