Hey Mama's. I have seen a few listing on my local ads for the older style sandy's (just say ME on tags) The older ones look smaller when compared to the new ones (layed side by side) Do any of you mama's who have been using ME for years know how much of a difference there is? In the pics it seems like a couple of inches, did they cange the weight ranges? I'm looking for larges, and have seen listings for both new and old, and want to make sure they'd both fit. Thanks! |

I'd contact ME just to be sure but I don't recall ever hearing about any sizing changes in the last 7 years or so that I've been using ME products. I know that the older ones (probably before I even started using them) didn't have the whale tag but I didn't think they'd changed the sizing.
I think that a little while back they changed the stated size on the large Sandy's. I could have sworn the used to be rated till 40lbs but now it only says 35lbs. I suppose maybe they could have changed the actual diaper but I would have thought they'd have made an announcement to that effect. Who knows though, I could be wrong.
I'd contact ME just to be sure... One thing to keep in mind with diapers that old though, is just how worn are they? If they've been in storage for several years then that's fine, but if they've been in use, even if not continually, for all that time I'd be weary about what condition they're all really in. I'd want to see them in person or at least really good, up-close photos of all the diapers (not just one). Just cause you never know if the seller's idea of 'good' condition is the same as yours...

Yeah, it was the newer ones the seller is listing that i wanted, but the older style look much smaller, so i was worried that the newer were really TE, which my son will never fit in lol. I have contacted her twice with questions and she hasn't replied though, so most likely I won't be getting them anyhow. I've just noticed it in a few listings, where the dipes (new and old) are side by side, listed as same size, but old ones look smaller. Who knows... Still on the lookout for my larges, hopefully ds doesnt grow too much before i find them lol Thanks Karen

| I came across some older L Sandys that were, in fact, quite a bit lower in the rise than the ones that I have (bought in 2004). They were in the UK, and I believe they were manufactured by Popolini for ME (Popo now does its own ME copy-cat version, so there's some bad blood there now). I sold them for a friend who had bought them used, so no one knew their age, but although in great condition, they were definitely smaller, almost like a medium. They were 100% cotton, so I suppose some shrinkage could have happened, but I wouldn't think that much. I can't say that the same manufacturing specs were used in North America at that time (whenever it was, pre 2004 at least). I'd just e-mail ME and ask if there were any sizing changes at any point. |
