Questions for veteran ME mamas (MamaWillow)

Hi there, I just started using the MEOS in organic cotton for my 15 lb. 9 week old DS.
First, are these really going to fit until potty-training? I already am not turning them down and I just wonder how long these will actually fit???
Also, DS just got a few large red spots on inner thighs and also on middle of tummy. I had them fastened pretty tight the other day, could this be the reason for rashy irritation? And just how tight do these need to be? Can they be loose and comfy and still hold stuff in? I guess I could probably figure all of this out on my own but I wouldn't mind a little advice from those who has used them for a while. TIA!

The diaper should be snug so as not to come off but I certainly don't consider it tight. They hold in a lot even with gaps around the legs I found. To that end, the cover does not need to be tight either ... at least the airflow cover. I had the same question about fit as you ... at one point I was considering buying the diaper extender (ME sells snap extenders to help get through the chubbiest phase that seems to come prior to crawling/walking). I did not end up needing the diaper extender and I can now envision the diaper lasting until PT'ing now that my daughter is walking and her weight gain has leveled off as she has entered Toddler-dom. I hope you enjoy your MEOS as much as I have!

my sisters dd is huge, over 25lbs and only 12 months old, (and I thought I had big babies) anyway she has very big thighs and belly, and wears the onesize, the diaper is very stretchy,  (I totally didn't think they would fit her, since she was 22lbs at 4 months. (my kids are 20lbs at six months, Kids slow down after 6 months. my kids were only 21lbs at 1year old)

Anyway, the diaper fits my niece, fine and comfortable without the liner (with liner its kinda tight) so the diaper does get easily soaked but the kid is comfy, with disposibles, she gets chafed.

PP-how do you find the diaper extender, this may help my sis be able to use the liner, so the diaper wont have to be so thin for her baby?

My DD was over 25lbs at 12 months so i can totally relate to your niece needing the extender It is my understanding that you just call ME and ask for the diaper snap extender ... I am not sure of the specific name but it has been referenced on the forum in the past. Hopefully that helps.

Thanks Mamas. I feel better now! It's good to be reminded that babies slow down after 6  months. I was beginning to think my DS would be a 40 lb 1 year old.

Mine's a 35lb one year old(14 mos).
Thankfully, he hasn't gained a pound in 3 months now.
Average gain between 12-24 mos is 2-4 lbs. So thankfully, there's some light at the end of that first year growth spurt tunnel!
It is amazing, isn't it? Just how fast them babies grow that first 12 months!

My DS#1 was able to wear the OS until he PTed, and he was 33/34 lbs at that point (2 years, 4 months), 29 lbs at one year.  The OS were getting a bit snug around 32 lbs, but he evened out a bit and they were actually less snug at 34 lbs.  For a while I was snapping the OS on only the outside snap (just one), but was able to go back to two.  The L Sandys he wore until night dry had even a bit more room than the OS for an extra liner, etc.
