I have some small Thirsties covers I'm planning on using with our newborn after the birth. Will this type of cover work over a MEOS?

It will work, and probably will work good on a newborn since they will not be moving around that much.
I tried using Thirsties with my MEOS on my then-12 month old twins, and while they worked most of the time, I did have a lot of leaks. At that point though, my twins were always crawling/walking, so they moved A LOT.
I've tried a lot of others and have always stuck with ME Airflows.... they really are bulletproof.
